OpenSuperQPlus Consortium Comes to Budapest This Summer for First Progress Meeting and ReAQCT Conference

After celebrating one year of OpenSuperQPlus in March, our first major consortium meeting since the start of the project is coming up in June to evaluate the progress already made in the individual fields of work and to set the next milestones. At the invitation of OpenSuperQPlus partners Budapest University of Technology and Economics and Wigner Research Centre for Physics, the project partners from the scientific work areas as well as the management and dissemination team will meet in Budapest from 17 to 18 June 2024. The programme includes updates from all work packages, plenary sessions on technical topics, parallel discussion rounds on individual project areas and the opportunity to meet in further individual working groups. The large framework of the meeting will also be used for an organisational-strategic meeting of the General Assembly as well as for a feedback round by the Advisory Board.

Budapest was chosen as the venue for the OpenSuperQPlus progress meeting because it will be followed by the first edition of the new conference format "Recent Advances in Quantum Computing and Technology" (ReAQCT) on 19 and 20 June – also organised by our hosting partners and sponsored by Bosch Budapest. For two days, scientists, companies and interested newcomers from the fields of quantum computing and quantum technology will come together at the Bosch Budapest Innovation Campus to discuss the latest achievements and current issues in the following fields:

OpenSuperQPlus coordinator Prof. Frank Wilhelm-Mauch from Forschungszentrum Jülich has been invited as a keynote speaker. The head of the OSQ+ project unit "Application and Test Suite", Dr Anton Frisk Kockum from Chalmers University of Technology, is another high-ranking member of our consortium to join the group of experts at the ReAQCT. As the event will take place close to the first OpenSuperQPlus progress meeting, conference participants will have the opportunity to exchange ideas on site with other experts from our consortium – first and foremost our colleagues Dr Zoltán Zimborás and Dr Orsolya Kálmán from Wigner Research Centre for Physics, as well as Dr János Asbóth and Dr András Pályi from the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, who play a key role in the organisation of ReAQCT.

Abstracts and full manuscripts for oral or poster presentations can be submitted to the ReAQCT programme committee until the end of April. Interested participants can register until 10 June, with a discount for early bookings until mid-May.
